Focussed around early intervention – These sessions are based around building a relationship with young people in order to tackle their offending behaviour and encouraging them to take part in more positive activities in their local community. Working with younger members of the community that are involved in anti-social and offending behaviour at an earlier stage provides a better support network to be established and creates more opportunities for positive changes in behaviour, therefore decreasing the chances of offending to continue into their later teens.
The range of 1:1 and group work programmes that we provide helps support young people to deal with things such as feelings, emotions, coping strategies and consequences, recognising triggers of behaviour and also encourages them to get involved in diversionary activities. It also aims to lower the risk of exclusion from school, increase positive engagement when working with other organisations and agencies and build positive relationships with peers, parents, siblings, school, social workers and all other agencies involved.
